What a day!!!

VirginiaToday was awesome!!!!

We started our day going to the local university to meet with the nursing students there. Mrs. Younce gave a talk to the students. Her talk centered around how through her faith in God, she views each and every patient as the image of God when she cares for them. John also shared his testimony of faith that led him into a nursing career. It was very powerful. The students told us that they were touched by what was shared with them. One of the students, Liz, is a Christian that works as a witness with a missionary group out of Florida. She told us that some of the students there today had not accepted Christ. She was thankful for what John and Mrs. Younce had said because it opened the door for her to share her faith with these other students.

After lunch we worked at the Second Baptist church that is our mother church. We did blood pressures, glucose checks, and handed out reading glasses. It started off kindof slow for about 30 minutes. Then we were so busy it was hard to keep up. A couple of young men from the church, Bruno and Andre, came and helped us with the translations. They were a huge blessing! They also said it gave them an opportunity to practice their English. We saw somewhere around 170 patients in less than 3 hours.

I just have to say…GOD IS GREAT!!!

This trip is GREAT and we´ve got more work to do.

Goodbye and Chao!!!
